This landscape is an original painting of rolling hills of lavender in the northern region of Provence called La Drome Provencal. During summer one often sees these beautiful blue and lavender fields perfectly complemented by golden shrubs of yellow broom that grow wild in the landscape.

This is one of a series of vignettes being auctioned to benefit the Central Virginia Foodbank. Through the month of June, I plan to post at least one new auction on a regular basis. About the auctions:

I have created these auctions in order to raise money for the Central Virginia Foodbank. According to the CVA Foodbank's website, just $25 will provide as many as 200 meals! So, with that in mind, opening bids for these auctioned paintings will be set at the mega-bargain price of about 200 meals, or $24.99 per item. 95% of the proceeds for the sale of these vignettes will be donated to the Central Virginia Foodbank.

It's my hope that each piece will get bids and that they will far surpass the opening bid. Winning bidders get the original painting, plus the satisfaction of knowing that the proceeds of their purchase are being donated to help one community's underprivileged children, elderly and families in serious need.
