Thanks for that. Yes, I agree with you that pen and ink holds its own position under the “art” umbrella. I guess I’ve called them sketches because they have always been sort of personal notes to myself that I really hadn’t intended to exhibit. I haven’t exactly considered myself a watercolorist or a pen and ink artist, but perhaps I just need to let go of all of these self limiting categories and call it all “art”.

Lately I’ve been encouraged to share more of these drawings and works on paper. Releasing my own inhibitions and pre-conceptions, I put a number of these works on display at my last studio opening and received a very warm reception for them.
