Richmond artist auctions artwork for the FoodBank…
Richmond Virginia artist Jennifer Young has listed a new “Art for Food” auction to benefit the Central Virginia FoodBank. Opening bids for these original paintings are just $24.99. This week’s auction is a watercolor/pen & ink vignette of sunflowers…
I’ve wanted to email you for the longest. I love your work and check your sites often to see the lastest, but what I mostly want to say is thankyou for all your information and tips on everything of painting. I’m older than you and just learning the computer (not a good excuse). As a retired illustrator and 6 months back into the art mode, I have to thankyou for introducing me to blogs. Your site I found by googling “Italian painting” after returning from a trip there myself and being inspired to paint again. I can’t tell you how much I apprieate YOU opening me up to such an amazing world of artists and the virtual art community that is on the web. I’ve been so inspired by many artists as a result and over the last six months seen my own work improve. You gave me the start I needed to begin to see how I might return to art as a part time occupation for now. Hopefully full time in the future.
You are not only a very talented and skillful artist, but an impressive business women to be admired. Thanks again for your generosity of sharing your knowlege.

Marilyn,
WOW!!! Thank you feels like an inadequate response, but believe me when I say it is heartfelt. I am surprised and happy to know that my little corner of cyberspace has been a source of inspiration for you. I agree, there is a lot of talent and creativity out there, and we are lucky to be here at a time where access to it is literally right at our fingertips.
When I see some of the amazing things others are doing with their art and their art blogs I am blown away. So to think I may have played some part in leading you to them is actually an inspiration to ME. I like blogging, but there are times when I wonder, “Is anybody actually reading this stuff?” Believe me when I say that comments like yours make a world of difference.
I myself am very inconsistent about leaving comments on other blogs, even ones I truly admire and visit as often as I can find the time. So you’ve inspired me also to do a better job of that!
Congratulations on your blog! I’m glad you decided to take those paints off of the shelf again
. Of course I am drawn to your travelogue paintings, and I especially like the loose, fresh quality of your latest piece. I look forward to seeing how things progress. Keep going and keep blogging, and I will too!
