"Climbing
Roses "

I
painted this scene from a study I did "en pleinaire" during
my travels to Normandy and Provence in the Spring of 2003. During that
time, I received special permission to paint in Monet's garden on a day
when it was closed to the public. It is an experience I will never forget!!
This rose trellis and walkway is one that Monet had painted several times.
The walk is lined by the most beautiful flowers, and leads up to Monet's
famous pink house. It the distance are the soft rolling hills of Giverny.
I hope you enjoy viewing this painting as much as I enjoyed making it!
