Cypress House"

Several times I have had the great fortune to travel to Italy, most recently in the spring/summer of 2004. On my last trip I visited many areas in southern Tuscany, and I was awed by the beauty and drama of the landscape. I saw this scene while driving through the Val d'Orcia, just outside of the village of Pienza. Because the cypress trees cause such a striking composition, it is often painted and photographed. Of course, I couldn't resist doing one of my own renditions! I hope you enjoy viewing this piece as much as I enjoyed painting it! |
