I
painted this charming scene on location when I was up in the mountains
of Nelson county, Virginia. It was a typical Viriginia hot summer morning
but I was determined to capture this lovely meadow and it's dewey blanket
of blue/violet flowers. The amazing thing was, once the sun started blazing
(around 10 a.m.) the flowers were gone! The originals study was done on
location, and then I developed this larger scene in my studio based on
my plein air studies. I hope you enjoy viewing this painting as much as
I enjoyed painting it!
