About
the Painting:
Several
times I have had the great fortune to travel to Italy, and
it has always held a special place in my heart. One day while
we were in Venice, my husband and I took a long stroll and
got lost in the neighborhood of Castello....or at least we
started out in Castello. Somehow things went awry and we wandered
and wandered. We finally ended up in Canareggio, caught in
a thunderstorm, at the end of the little peninsula. We ducked
in a charming little cafe--one that we would never have discovered
otherwise. It was the best day ever! After that, we put our
maps away and just walked where our will would take us. If
you ever travel to Venice, I highly recommend reserving at
least a day to just wander and lose yourself in this beautiful
city. I hope you enjoy this piece as much as I enjoyed painting
it!
