Italy is a country that captured my heart from the very first moment I put my foot on its soil. It is filled with gorgeous cities, rolling hills, cypress trees, and terra cotta rooftops. Don't even get me started on the food! I have been to Italy many times and have travelled to many of its beautiful cities. The villages and hill towns are lovely and filled with charm, and I dream of returning again and again with paints and easel in tow.

About the Painting:

Several times I have had the great fortune to travel to Italy, and it has always held a special place in my heart. This painting was created after I returned from an incredibly wonderful trip to Lake Como, which is a beautiful lake situated at the foot of the Pre-Alps, in the northern part of Italy. This is an area that is at once Alpine and Mediterranean in appearance. You will find lush flowers, cacti, palm trees and cypresses, all set against the backdrop of dramatic mountains. Pescallo is a charming fishing village that was just down the hillside from where we were staying in Bellagio.. I hope you enjoy viewing this piece as much as I enjoyed painting it!
