Italy is a country that captured my heart from the very first moment I put my foot on its soil. It is filled with gorgeous cities, rolling hills, cypress trees, and terra cotta rooftops. Don't even get me started on the food! I have been to Italy many times and have travelled to many of its beautiful cities. The villages and hill towns are lovely and filled with charm, and I dream of returning again and again with paints and easel in tow.

About the Painting:

Several times I have had the great fortune to travel to Italy, and it has always held a special place in my heart. Recently, I visited many areas in southern Tuscany, and I was awed by the beauty and drama of the landscape. During my travels, I had the opportunity to visit several vineyards that produced the famous local wines of Brunello, Rosso di Montalcino, Vino Nobile di Montalpulciano, and others. This scene was of the Piccolomini vineyards just outside of the village of Sant Antimo. I loved the contrast of the bright vines in the foreground and the sweeping landscape beyond. I hope you enjoy viewing this piece as much as I enjoyed painting it!
