During my painting travels to Provence, I explored the rural areas filled with color. Aside from the brilliant springtime wildflowers, what struck me most about this region was the beauty of the trees. The umbrella pines are prevalent both in the south of France and in neighboring Italy. Often times when I paint a scene, I will create another version with an alternate view or format. This painting is such an alternate view; hence the name "Off the Beaten Path II". I hope you enjoy viewing this painting as much as I enjoyed painting it!
