About the painting:
This painting was inspired by a plein air painting I did at on location at sunrise during our annual summer vacation trip to North Carolina's Outer Banks. I had to wake up extra early to capture this beautiful color on canvas, but it was so worth it. I then brought the smaller painting back to the studio to reinterpret it on a larger scale.
