Being from Virginia, the South is where I call home. So it is a subject I naturally find myself painting again and again. The Southern landscape offers rounded mountains, beautiful springtime blossoms, winding wetlands and romantic palms. While I love to travel, I'm finding I don't have to go far to find wonderful subjects to paint.

About the Painting: This was a painting I did from a trip we took to Key West. It was the dead of winter here in Richmond Virginia, and we took a plane from the sleet and rain down to the sunny keys of Florida. This was my first time to the keys, and I was enthralled by all of the tropical flora. I was also charmed by the simple little "Conch Houses" that lined streets and blinded me with their brilliant whiteness. This little painting just feels like sun and fun to me. I hope you enjoy viewing this piece as much as I enjoyed painting it!
