Being from Virginia, the South is where I call home. So it is a subject I naturally find myself painting again and again. The Southern landscape offers rounded mountains, beautiful springtime blossoms, winding wetlands and romantic palms. While I love to travel, I'm finding I don't have to go far to find wonderful subjects to paint.

About the Painting: Key West! The land of sun and palm trees--what more can I say? When we first visited Key West, it was February and snowing in my home state of Virginia. How wonderful to sweep ourselves away to this blissful place of sun and blue skies! This scene was one of the many streets we wandered along during our visit there. It was fun to admire the simple "Conch" architecture and the beautiful tropical plantings. I hope you enjoy viewing this piece as much as I enjoyed painting it!
