This was painted on location on the grounds of the Tuckahoe Plantation in Richmond, Virginia. This location was once the boyhood home of Thomas Jefferson and offers many wondeful scenes for the plein air painter. I have returned several times just to paint this scene, but have enjoyed painting other parts of the plantation grounds and gardens as well. I hope you enjoy viewing this piece as much as I enjoyed painting it!
