I love them!!! They are beautiful, vibrant and so pleasing to the eye! Thank you so much for painting such beautiful and happy paintings. I will be looking to buy more paintings in the future. (P.S. It was a delight doing business with Jennifer, and her professionalism equals her talent.)
“En Plein Air” is a French phrase meaning “in the open air”. In painting it refers to the little field studies done on location that gained popularity in the Barbizon School and most especially by the French Impressionists. America has her own rich history of plein air painting, and today and there are many landscape painters, myself among them, who practice the art painting on location as a way to develop a deeper understanding of the subject and the play of light. I will often do field studies as a way to capture the fleeting moment and cement my impressions of a particular location, time and place. These may be used as references for larger studio pieces, but they also stand on their own for their freshness and immediacy.
