In the summer of 2017 I was fortunate to have received an artist's residency in Vinalhaven Maine. Vinalhaven is off of the coast of Rockland and is Maine's largest island. There are many places on the island that are protected by the Vinalhaven Land Trust and the state of Maine. State Beach (or Geary's Beach) is a great place to go if you love to rock-hop. I took some great hikes around this beach, and enjoyed this location particularly just after sunrise when the light sparkled across the water and illuminated the rocks.
