About the painting:
This large studio painting is inspired by a plein air painting trip I took to Chincoteague Island, VA. This is the home of the Chincoteague ponies and the legendary children’s story the inspired, “Misty of Chincoteague.” The ponies still graze in the marsh today, though for this particular painting, the light is the star.
