"Marsh, Early Spring", Oil on Canvas, 9x12"

"Marsh, Early Spring", Oil on Canvas, 9x12"

Price: US $545 unframed, or $625 framed.

For options and purchasing, please contact us.

About the painting:

The Lowcountry marshes are such an interesting subject for the landscape painter. I saw this scene in early spring one morning during my travels to the Carolina and Georgia low country, and I loved the abstract pattern formed by the water cutting through the marsh grasses.

"Sun Beneath the Haze", Oil on canvas, 40x30"

"Sun Beneath the Haze", Oil on canvas, 40x30"

Price: US $3395 gallery wrapped (no additional framing required).  For options and purchasing, please contact us.

About the painting:

This is a painting inspired by a painting trip I took to the eastern shore of Maryland. One evening as I was painting on location there was a most unusual sky. The sun had been hidden by a blanket of haze the entire day, and then suddenly as the atmosphere began clearing from the ground up, the sun began to burn through, causing a comet-like streak across the sky.

A wintry landscape just before sunset.  The golden streak of light on the icy stream is what drew me to this scene.

"Twilight on the Outer Banks", Oil on linen, 24x30"

"Twilight on the Outer Banks", Oil on linen, 24x30"

Price: US $1850 unframed, or $2095 framed.

For options and purchasing, please contact us.

About the painting:

The Outer Banks of North Carolina tops my list of beautiful, semi-local places to paint, and to just unwind. While I have done numerous paintings of this gorgeous area, this painting was special to me because it evokes the memory of a special time. Ocracoke Island had made one of the lists for the “most beautiful beaches in the USA,” so, in celebration of my birthday,  my husband and I decided it was time to vacation there. This scene was one of the sunsets we were lucky enough to enjoy while we were on the island. I painted several on site studies during our visit, but this painting was one that I did back home in the studio from fond memories and photos taken on site.

"Winter Walk", Oil on linen, 20x24"

"Winter Walk", Oil on linen, 20x24"

Price: US $1495 unframed, or $1675 framed.

For options and purchasing, please contact us.

About the painting:

This painting was inspired by a winter walk I took with my little daughter and her cousin during the first snowfall in our town of Ashland, Virginia. The two little figures add life to this chilly but quiet, peaceful setting.

"Vineyard Patterns", Oil on Canvas, 12x16"

"Vineyard Patterns", Oil on Canvas, 12x16"

Price: US $850 unframed, or $945 framed.

For options and purchasing, please contact us.

About the painting:

I  painted this piece on location "en plein air" at the beautiful Veritas Vineyards located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I was attracted to the sweeping lines and patterns created by the vineyards, as well as the lovely variety of greens in the scene. Afterward I cooled off with a tasting at the vineyard. It was a perfectly lovely way to complete a lovely day.

"Morning in Gray and Gold", Oil on linen, 12x16"

Price: US $850 unframed, or $945 framed.

About the painting:

This location is a birding trail I happened upon while exploring Nellysford, VA. I think those yellow flowers are goldenrod (?) They were everywhere, along with many other stunning wildflowers. The main attraction for me though, was the mist and clouds that settled on the distant mountains, with just a bit of the mountaintop peeking through. It was really something to behold.

"Albemarle Morning", Oil on Canvas, 24x30"

"Albemarle Morning", Oil on Canvas, 24x30"

Price: US $1850 unframed, or $2095 framed.

For options and purchasing, please contact us.

About the painting:

Albemarle county is located about an hour west of where I live. It's a beautiful area, and in spring, we are gifted with crisp cool air, and abundant wildflowers and buttercups.  Soft grasses and rolling hills gently give way to the azure slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Its a special place to paint.

Price: US $1495 unframed, or $1675 framed.

About the painting:

This painting was inspired by a plein air painting I did on site during our annual summer vacation trip to North Carolina's Nags Head in the Outer Banks. This is not only a special place for me as a painter, but also a place that I have grown to love for special times with my family. Painting this brought back such a happy and relaxed feeling for me, and I hope it does the same for you, too.

"Path to the Sea", Oil on Canvas, 30x40"

"Path to the Sea", Oil on Canvas, 30x40"

Price: $ 3495 on Gallery Wrapped canvas (no additional framing needed).

This painting came was based on several plein air paintings done on location in Salvo on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Shaped by the sea, I find the dunes to be endlessly fascinating.

"Sunrise Stroll", Oil on linen, 20x24"

"Sunrise Stroll", Oil on linen, 20x24"

Price: US $1495 unframed, or $1675 framed.

About the painting:

This is an early morning scene from a recent painting trip I made to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I did several small plein air studies on the beach, and developed this larger piece at home in my studio. There's something so alluring and magical about the early morning sunrise, when everything is peaceful and unpopulated, and the surf and sand are lit up with a soft rosy hue.

"The Conch House", Oil on canvas, 11x14"

"The Conch House", Oil on canvas, 11x14"

Price: US $660 unframed, or $750 framed.

For options and purchasing, please contact us.

About the painting:

This was a painting I did from a trip we took to Key West. It was the dead of winter here in Richmond Virginia, and we took a plane from the sleet and rain down to the sunny keys of Florida. This was my first time to the keys, and I was enthralled by all of the tropical flora. I was also charmed by the simple little "Conch Houses" that lined streets and blinded me with their brilliant whiteness. This little painting just feels like sun and fun to me.

"The Shaded Alley", Oil on canvas, 12x16"

"The Shaded Alley", Oil on canvas, 12x16"

Price: US $850 unframed, or $945 framed.

For options and purchasing, please contact us.

About the painting:

One of my favorite pastimes in Key West is to just ride a bike around in the sun and enjoy the charming houses and colors. Every street and alley way holds patterns of shade and color so enticing to a painter's eye. I'm from Virginia, an area too cold to grow most palms. Therefore, I especially enjoy seeing the palm trees down south, and I love the shadow patterns cast by their willowy forms.

"A Place in the Sun" Oil on canvas, 16x20"

"A Place in the Sun" Oil on canvas, 16x20"

Price: US $1225 unframed, or $1375 framed.

About the painting:

Key West! The land of sun and palm trees--what more can I say? When we first visited Key West, it was February and snowing in my home state of Virginia. How wonderful to sweep ourselves away to this blissful place of sun and blue skies! This scene was one of the many streets we wandered along during our visit there. It was fun to admire the simple "Conch" architecture and the beautiful tropical plantings.

About the painting:

One of my favorite things about Key West is the charming architecture of these lovely little conch houses. I enjoyed painting this pretty little house ensconced in tropical foliage.

About the painting:

This painting was inspired by a painting trip I took to Nelson County, Virginia. The combination of the moisture in the air on a summer's evening and the sun setting on the mountains made this placid scene come alive. This painting was completed in the studio from photos and color notes of the plein air paintings I had done in the area on site.
